What’s the Skinny, Dave?
I am no genius: SAT scores can attest to that fact. I do realize that I know a thing or two when it comes to life and living, and various other topics of interest. For example, I have a heart for helping people. Like, people who need help beyond what a typical layperson may have to offer. I know what makes people tick (usually), and I find that when I put those skills to use, I am awarded a paycheck now and again; so I am being reinforced by using my talents (thanks, Skinner).
I also have a dog. Her name is Koda, and she is a chocolate lab. Great dog – a little skittish, but good nonetheless. And I am a family man. Although my first post may allude to some possible family avoidance, I love my family. They are a great people full of vigor, character and uniqueness.
Essentially, this post will be about life in general (so avant-gard) and what is happening specifically with mine and those closest to me. I will also try to discuss at fair length the implications of the mental health field and being a therapist (in training): what it’s like, who I deal with, etc.
No one’s twisting your arm to read, you know…

Hey there, Dave!
While I am not a polished writer like yourself, I can say that you are doing a wonderful job of telling us what is happening with your career in mental health, and we all could use a little more h-h-help, couldn’t we?
Thanks for sharing and opening up. I’m sure I’ll have a response after reading more of your good stuff!
Love, Mom
P.S. Don’t put this on the blog. What will people think!!! OMG

Oh Dave…you bring so much joy to my world. The thing about blogging and not wanting to read your own stuff is common, I think. When I post stuff, which is as infrequently as can be, I hate going back over it because I already know what I wrote. It’s still stored up in my temporal lobes. Oh, and MySpace sucks. I got rid of mine because politicians started contacting me for my vote, which is great campaigning, but bad for privacy and anonymity, which is bad for the company, considering that I set everything to private. Point being, I understand, I don’t post, and I can’t wait for you to psycho-analyze me at Thanx giving. Woot!!

I’ll do what I can. That’s no guarantee of finding out what’s wrong with you…
